AppSoftware Journals offers 3 types of Journal:
- Entries are viewable by user only except where made public on an entry by entry basis.
- Attachments are available to anyone with the URL.
Use this type of journal if you want to be able make entries public and do not require the content to be encrypted. Public enabled journals can be changed to private journals at any time. Note that following changing a public enabled journal to private, attachments that have previously been shared publicly may still be available temporarily due to caching mechanisms.
- Entries are viewable by the creating user only.
- Attachments are viewable by user only.
Use this type of journal if you want to be sure that no entries and attachments can be accidentally made public. Private journals can be changed to public enabled journals.
See Encrypted Journals for more information regarding features and use of encrypted journals.
Use this journal type if you do not require the ability to make entries public or upload attachments for the journal. Journals can only be set as encrypted on creation and encryption cannot be later removed.
